Value for money ticket

This was my first time buying tickets for Chester Zoo. I always try to find the best deal, so I booked Day Entry Tickets online in advance. It saved me a good bit compared to buying at the gate, which was exactly what I was hoping for. The whole experience felt worth the price paid, especially seeing how many animals they have. Definitely a good value day out.

Fun day out with the kids

So, we went to Chester Zoo with the kids. Just got the regular Day Entry Tickets online a few days before. It was pretty easy, just showed our phones at the gate. The kids loved the monkeys, obviously. And the elephants were huge! We walked a lot, my feet were definitely feeling it by the end, but it was a good tired. The weather held up, thankfully. Just a nice, chill day out, nothing complicated.

Consistently great experience

I've been to Chester Zoo a few times now, and this visit was just as good as the others. We got the Day Entry Tickets again. It's always reliable; the animals are well cared for, and the grounds are clean. I appreciate the consistency. That's why I keep coming back, even though it's a bit of a drive for us. It's a trusted option for a family day out.

Good day at the zoo

Bought Day Entry Tickets online. Easy process. Saw lots of animals, especially liked the elephants. Parking was fine. A bit of walking, but that's expected. Overall, a solid visit for the family.

Enjoyable but busy

We bought Day Entry Tickets for the zoo. Getting the tickets online was easy enough, saved us some time at the gate. The animal exhibits were impressive, especially the red pandas; they were quite active. What I found was that it got incredibly busy around midday, making it a bit tough to get a good view of some animals. Parking was plentiful, which was good, but it's quite a walk from the car park to the entrance. Overall, a great zoo, but maybe pick an off-peak day if you can to avoid the crowds a bit.

Detailed visit observations

We ordered Day Entry Tickets for a Saturday in advance through their website. The booking process was straightforward, and I received the confirmation email almost instantly. On arrival, scanning the tickets was quick, no queues. The signage around the zoo was very clear, helping us navigate to different animal habitats easily. We particularly enjoyed the Lion Experience area; the enclosures seemed really well-designed. We had lunch at one of the cafes, the food was standard zoo fare, a bit pricey but okay. We didn't need customer support, which is always a good sign. The path surfaces were mostly good, even for pushing a stroller. Overall, it was a very well-managed and enjoyable day. Just wish parking was a tad closer to the entrance.

Hey, thinking of taking the family to Chester Zoo next month. Does anyone know if they do any kind of 2 for 1 deals? Trying to save a bit if possible.

S Sandra E. 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they often have those! I used a railcard one last year, saved a bunch. Also check those third-party voucher sites, sometimes they pop up there.

I think I saw something about Tesco Clubcard points being usable for tickets too, might be worth checking if you have any built up!

Planning a surprise for my girlfriend, want to do the giraffe feeding experience. How far in advance do those usually book up?

M Michelle Thomas 1 week ago
Oh, those animal experiences go super fast, especially for popular ones like giraffes or penguins. I'd say book at least a month or two out, especially if you want a weekend slot.

Yeah, my sister tried to get the red panda one last minute and it was fully booked for weeks. Don't wait on it!

Anyone know if you can bring your own sandwiches and stuff into the zoo? Or do they make you buy all your food inside?

J Julia G. 3 weeks ago
Totally fine to bring your own food! We always pack a picnic, saves a ton of money. They have lots of spots to sit and eat too.

Is it worth getting the annual membership if I only plan to visit twice a year? Or am I better off just buying day tickets?

S Sam J. 1 month ago
Hmm, I think the membership usually pays for itself after two visits, plus you get other perks like discounts in the shop. I'd do the math based on current ticket prices though, sometimes they change.

I got the membership and it's great, especially if you live somewhat close. Even if it's just two visits, the convenience of not booking every time is nice. Plus, you're supporting a good cause!
